The cottage is the birthplace of famous French impressionist painter Eugene Boudin (born 1824). It is situated in a quiet area of the old town, only 4 minutes walk from the picturesque ancient port, which is now a marina for large and small luxury yachts and some preserved wooden boats. The port is surrounded by interesting shops, art galleries, restaurants and Saturday market.
