JLV-Sound has made itself known through the invention created by Jean-Luc Vignaud, saxophonist and inventor.
The JLV ligature for saxophone and clarinet won an award in May 2013 at the prestigious LEPINE international competition in Paris, winning the President of the Republic's 1st prize.
Its innovative behaviour, unique in the world, arising from its clamping and its "Resurfacing" function, allows the reed freedom and so lets it vibrate over its whole length. As a result it releases more harmonics, so notes are more accurate in both bass and treble, which gives greater playing comfort whilst reducing air losses due to reed deformations.
